Ok, with this weekend being Easter weekend, group rides have been moved to Sat morning. Location: Coffee Oasis Nasa Rd 1 @ 7am.
Not sure what everyone would like to ride but a route has been posted for the intermediates that we basically could follow up to 270 then break off & head back to Nasa Rd 1 for about a 17 mi or so distance. I need to log at least a 50-60 mi ride so anyone wanting to head back out with me or meet me at Coffee Oasis for the 2nd loop, would be very welcome.
Let me know if you're riding & anyone who might be interested in joining me for the 50-60 mile ride.
Tks,
Steve

PS
For my cell, pm me, if weather looks iffy. I will be leaving my house around 6:15, will post before then if ride is cancelled if possible or call me.

If weather is iffy show up anyway.
Nothing wrong with coffee, a muffin, and friends on a drizzly morning.

Here's what I was thinking for a 60-miler: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3598672

First 17 miles are the loop Steve mentioned around Clear Lake that we can all do together.

After a short pit stop at Coffee Oasis, anyone who wants to go longer can head out again along the same path, south on 146, west on 646 to 517. If you want to go more like 37 miles, you can turn north at 270 and head back (basically a second loop). I plan to continue all the way to the Bucee's at Hwy 35 & 517 for another nice pit stop. Turn around there, and head back to Coffee Oasis via 517 -> 646 -> 270 -> Nasa 1.

Total of 61 miles.

Sounds like a plan.

That route will work for me with just doing the two loops. First loop on 96 and second loop on 646, I'll turn up 270 while you head out to Buc-ees. That will give me about 36 miles.

No one showed up for the 17-mile loop, so we ended up following a different route. Hope to meet some of you beginners next time!

I want to think it is was the holiday weekend that kept the numbers down & a foggy morning. Enjoyed the company for the ride, Sarah, Cleve & Steve. Steve & I got in 25 miles while the other 2 took off for another 25. We're not a super fast group usually averaging between 16-17 mph so anyone holding back from riding because of speed issues, don't. We stay together & there should be no worry about getting dropped, that's not our style. For faster riders, try the intermediate ride for something alittle more challenging. Two of the next 3 weekends are race events so rides may be harder to find, check the board.
Steve

I had a great ride with the "eves" -- Steve, Steve, and Cleve. Haha. The four of us rode 25, then Cleve and I rode another 25, then I rode a final 10 by myself to get 60. The first loop was a little foggy in spots -- a little TOO foggy for my liking, as fog makes me nervous -- but it was totally clear by the second loop. I forgot my Garmin, so I have no idea what our pace was. I know Cleve and I did the second loop about 15 minutes faster than the first. But I think my final 10 were pretty slow.

Second what Steve said though -- we're not that speedy, average in the 15-17 mph range. I hope no one was intimidated by the talk of 60 miles, because we are always willing to do loops for anyone who wants to go shorter distances!
