Weather permitting, I'd like to have a beginner bike ride this Sunday morning. Nothing too fast or too far just so everyone can get comfortable riding again, especially if it's been awhile (grade school). There will be a group ride starting earlier & going a longer distance for anyone logging miles for Gateway or Lonestar. See the disscussion board (cycle section) for latest post by Jessica.
For the time being, both rides will start from Coffee Oasis (4650 Nasa Rd 1). For the beginners we'll do 10@10, 10 miles starting at 10am. Try to get there by 9:45 if possible to do a quick meet & greet plus I'll try to answer any questions before we get started.
If the weather looks iffy, check the discussion board or pm me for my cell #. Be sure to bring helmet, water bottle, tire pump, & dress warm if weather gets colder (temp should be good by 10am). It would be helpful if anyone wanting to do this ride would post reply or pm me. Look forward to riding with everyone this tri season!

We had our 1st beginner ride yesterday with a small but determined group fighting the wind through portions of the ride. Special thanks for Donna, Mike & Joy (that's right a Joy sighting) for helping out. Matthew & Jason, I look forward to many more rides this tri season. You both looked strong out there battling the wind.
Any newcomers out there planning on doing either Gateway or Lonestar sprints, you're way behind if you're not logging some saddle time on your own. Anyone doing Silverlake or Combat, needs to get going as the training schedule for them has started. With the time change coming up & warmer temps, plan on attending one of the rides (either intermediate or beginner). We look forward to seeing you out there whatever your pace or skill level. Come on out!

I had so much fun riding with the group yesterday. I feel like a real person again. Thank you to everyone for waiting on me; I have not ridden since September and was very weak and recovering from an injury of sorts. It is nice not being left behind. The wind was brutal, I thought. At the end I felt like getting off and walking, but Donna riding right near me spurred me on.
Thanks Steve for leading us. I hope some more beginners come ride with us soon.
Joy

Hey, Joy, as many times as you waited for me last year, it was the least I could do. :)

You did great for the first time back!
